In my role as a laboratory technician, I perform a variety of technical functions essential for the proper functioning of our laboratory. My responsibilities include the execution of various techniques such as cutting brain sections with the cryostat, preparing buffers, and performing image analysis. Together with my colleague Iratxe, we are responsible for keeping the laboratory organized and ensuring that no supplies are missing to guarantee an optimal environment for research.

My journey in the field of science began when I studied a scientific baccalaureate with the intention of pursuing a degree in nursing. As I did not achieve the required grade to enter the nursing program, I decided to study a VET Superior Technician degree in Clinical and Biomedical Analysis at Jesuitak Politeknikoa (Bilbao). It was during this training when I first came into contact with the laboratory.

My interest in laboratory work grew so much during this period that I decided to continue my education in the field. Therefore, I studied a higher degree in Pathological Anatomy and Cytodiagnosis at the same center. During this program, I completed my internship at Mariana’s Lab, where I greatly enjoyed the experience and learned various laboratory techniques.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I am also a big fan of going to restaurants to discover different gastronomy and spending time in the mountains and beaches looking for tranquility.
