As a motivated young researcher, I am fascinated by the intricate mechanisms of brain function and development. I joined Astiz Lab for my first Postdoc abroad, where I focus on characterizing sibling neurons and astrocytes in the SCN, exploring their clonal, transcriptional, and functional profiles. My project aims to uncover the crucial yet underexplored role of astrocytes in circadian rhythms.
My research journey started in Italy, first at the University of Verona, where I earned a BS in Biotechnology. I then completed my MSc in Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Trento. Following a post-lauream period at EMBL, I pursued a PhD in Neurobiology at SISSA Institute in Trieste. Throughout my academic career, I have investigated mechanisms of HIV infection, Huntington’s disease, and gene therapy for pain syndromes. Experiencing diverse fields has equipped me with a broad skill set, which I’m eager to share and further develop.
Outside the lab, I enjoy being in contact with nature and exploring new places. At the end of the day, I relax with reading, cooking and spending time with friends and family.
